FEATURES
Calcitriol is one of the most important active metabolite of vitamin D3. It is usually transformed from its precursor 25-Hydroxyvitamin D3 in the kidney. The normal physiological daily production is 0.5-1.0 μg, and its secretion increases slightly during the period of increased bone synthesis (such as growth period or pregnancy period). Calcitriol promotes intestinal calcium absorption and regulates bone mineralization.
